25.  How do you treat congenitally asymmetric breasts?

Answer:
Congenital asymmetric breasts can be treated with reduction mammoplasty or implantation and reduction mammoplasty of the contralateral breasts. Morten Sandsmark (Scand J Plast Reconstr Hand Surg 1992; 26:321) reviewed 87 patients treated for asymmetrical breasts. Thirty-two patients had implants and 54 had reduction mammoplasty or mastopexy.  There was no difference in patient satisfaction between the groups (82% in both.)
