15. How should you repair a split earlobe?

Answer:
A variety of techniques have been devised for repairing split earlobes. A major concern is providing tissue support inferiorly to allow the patient to wear earrings immediately. The Pardue repair is basically a straight line repair where one edge is transposed to the opposite side to create a hole.  A variety of half Z-plasty and full Z-plasty techniques have been devised to repair split earlobes as well.  The Gajiwala repair involves making one limb of the Z-plasty horizontally so that after transposition the limb is more oblique relative to the hole.
