26.  You graft a piece of ear cartilage into a nasal tip, does it last?  What happens to it?

Answer:
According to Jack Sheen, who probably has the largest experience with nasal tip grafts, he reported his 20 year experience in PRS Vol 91(1) 48-63, 1993. He feels that ear cartilage in the tip does last with little resorption. One problem longterm is that if the skin is thin, graft visibility may be a problem.
