Incidence: Rare as solitary lesion in the hand; Present in 100% of patients with multiple osteochondromas.
Age, Sex: First and second decades; males slightly higher.
Location:
1. Usually metacarpals and proximal phalanges.
2. Infrequently subungual (as solitary lesions).
Histology/ Xray: Normal bone cortex, often cartilaginous cap present; projection of cortex continuous with normal cortex.
Treatment:
1. Excision when skeleton matures.
2. May need to correct angulation, rotation with excision.
