2.  Mucous cyst

Answer:
Mucous cyst is a ganglion cyst of the DIP joint.  It usually occurs between the fifth and seventh decades.  It usually lies to one side of the extensor tendon and between the dorsal distal joint crease and eponychium.  The treatment is excision of any attenuated skin and the cyst down to the joint capsule, as well as any associated osteophyte.
