Thomson, M.D., is the Director of the Yale University Hand and Microsurgery
Center, the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical
Center, Associate Professor of the Yale University School of Medicine
and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Quinnipiac College.
He specializes in surgery of the hand and wrist as well as reconstructive
microsurgery of the head and neck, breast, upper and lower extremities.
A native of Canada, Dr. Thomson is a graduate of McGill School of
Medicine in Montreal, Quebec. He then completed his general surgery
and plastic surgery residencies at McGill University. Dr. Thomson
completed his Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at Washington University
Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri before joining the Section
of Plastic Surgery at Yale University. A Diplomate of the American
and Canadian Boards of General and Plastic Surgery, he also holds
the Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. Recently
named as one of the Best Doctors for Surgery of the Hand in New
York, he was also named as a "Top Doc" in the February
2001 issue of Connecticut Magazine.
Dr. Thomson has lectured and published extensively on topics in
his field.
