Yale Pediatric Surgery is a group of world-class surgeons devoted exclusively to the care of infants and children. Our surgeons perform state-of-the-art minimally invasive and traditional operations for the full range of general, abdominal, thoracic, head and neck, pelvic, and soft tissue conditions including:

bullet. Treatment of congenital malformations and acquired disorders of the airway, respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts
bullet. Treatment of inguinal hernia and hypertrophic pyloric stenosis
bullet. Thoracoscopic operations including lung biopsy and treatment of empyema and recurrent pneumothorax
bullet. Laparoscopic operations, including cholecystectomy, splenectomy, fundoplication, pullthrough procedures for Hirschsprung’s disease, and assessment for contralateral hernias
bullet. Other minimally invasive procedures such as the Nuss operation for pectus excavatum, and bedside silo placement for the management of gastroschisis
bullet. Head and neck surgery
bullet. Management of all aspects of trauma in children
bullet. Surgical management of complex solid tumors as part of the multidisciplinary oncology team caring for these patients

Yale Pediatric Surgeons operate at the Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital, where they work closely with pediatricians and pediatric specialists in pre- and post-operative care. Preoperative visits and tours of the Children’s Hospital can be arranged through our office. These tours provide an invaluable orientation for parent and child to pediatric anesthesia services, the operating suite, and the post-anesthesia care unit.
